Come take a tour of the York County Courthouse in Alfred, Maine! This event includes a live demonstration of the courthouse’s older historical documents (1700s or so - some of the oldest documents in Maine). We will tour this historic courthouse, learn about the role of the County Commissioners, and be given a tour through Deeds. This event has two sign-up options - this registration is for the TOUR WITH TRANSPORT INCLUDED. For the "transport included" option, travel is begin and end at Jack Memorial in Buxton. This registration option is for the Tour WITH TRANSPORT INCLUDED - $20.00. PLEASE NOTE: our catalog contains an error regarding the instructor's name; Andrew O'Neill (not Adam) will be the event's tour guide. About Andrew: Andrew works for York County as a Records Management Specialist, and part of Andrew's job is to preserve and catalogue York County's historical documents. Andrew studied history at the University of Maine and enjoys getting to handle and see up close the great history of our County and State.
