In this lively, hands-on course, students will dive into the ancient and electrifying world of Highland piping—starting with the practice chanter, the essential instrument every piper uses to build technique and musical fluency. Through guided exploration and step-by-step instruction, students will learn the core fundamentals of bagpipe music and bring several classic tunes to life. By the end of the course, each student will be able to confidently play at least three traditional melodies from memory on the practice chanter. For those who feel the irresistible pull of the full Highland Bagpipes, we’ll also provide guidance on acquiring your own set and share clear next steps toward becoming a full-fledged piper. A practice chanter and textbook are included in the cost of tuition.
