About this event
Instructor: John Karas is a graduate of the University of Toledo and has taught at Harper College in Illinois. He held executive positions in three Fortune 500 corporations before founding an international corporation, leading to many years of international travel. After retirement, he served as Senior Energy Policy advisor to a U.S. Congressman. Description: In this course, we will explore the four oldest continuously occupied settlements in the U.S. We will discuss St. Augustine from 1565 to present day; Jamestown (1607); Plymouth (1620) and New Amsterdam (New York) from 1624 to present day. These settlements have played a significant role in shaping the history and culture of the United States. Each has its own unique history and significance, contributing to the nation's diverse heritage. Come and learn.
