About this event
Instructor: Justin Guy is a native of Edgefield. He works primarily at the Old Edgefield Pottery producing high-quality historical pottery by digging clay and firing in a wood-burning kiln. He also helps run the Tompkins Genealogical Library at the Edgefield County Archives to preserve Edgefield’s History. He is a Jean Laney Heritage Award winner. Description: A deeper inroad to a previous lecture on South Carolina and the American Civil War. The focus will center on the Scottish influence on the war, followed by the Artillery of the time, concluding with an up-to-date perspective of the Submarine Huntley out of Charleston, SC.
