For 36 years, he has written a weekly column in the Aiken Standard. Description: Melding pre-Hispanic traditions with All Souls’ and All Saints’ days, the Day of the Dead features cemetery visits. This course will consist of a lecture and a field trip to three historic cemeteries to visit the final resting places of eight notable Carolinians. The classroom session will focus on the biographies of those seven notable South Carolinians. For the field trip, we will meet in the St. Thaddeus churchyard and then carpool to Edgefield to visit Willowbrook. Lunch will be at your own expense after the field trip.
