Instructor: Allen Riddick is an Aiken native who graduated from Clemson University in 1978 and later received a master's degree from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. He has been the Aiken County Historical Society president since 1999 and has written three local history books. He is an avid collector of Aiken memorabilia, especially vintage photographs. Description: In 2011, Allen published a book titled Memories of Growing Up and Living in Aiken, SC. This book was based on memories obtained from interviews with older Aikenites, many of whom have since passed away. This course will discuss some of the book’s highlights and interesting facts.
