About this event
Wild Edible Food and Medicine Series Have you ever wanted to learn how to identify and forage for wild edible and medicinal plants, but don’t know where to start? Spring is a great time to enter into the practice of foraging. Many plants often dismissed as “weeds” are actually nourishing foods and powerful medicinal herbs. In spring, the tradition of food as medicine comes alive, revealing a landscape rich with nourishing and healing plants. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn plant identification, ethical harvesting, and the medicinal uses of common spring herbs. Together we’ll gather wild plants, prepare simple dishes—such as wild green pesto, salads, and herbal vinegars—and share a meal. By the end of the day, you’ll feel confident identifying, harvesting, and using key spring plants for food and herbal remedies, while deepening your connection to the land. Come gather, learn, and prepare food and medicine with us! You will leave with: -Having tasted pesto and salad and other dishes made from wild plants -Practical ideas for simple, nourishing dishes -Experience preparing wild foods and herbal remedies -The skills to confidently identify key spring edible and medicinal plants -Practical skills for safe, ethical, and sustainable harvesting -An understanding of the health-supporting properties of common spring plants
