About this event
Who made those footprints in the mud or that scratch on a tree? What critters are likely watching us right now as we seek to understand the clues they leave behind? Join seasoned LES mentor Erin “Soupy” Campbell along the banks of the Rivanna to learn the basics of interpreting both prints as well as other sign of animals such as scat, marks on trees, and nibbles on nuts. We’ll engage all our senses in both activities as well as actually finding and interpreting track and sign. About the mentor: Erin “Soupy” Campbell has her “Professional” certification from the international accreditation organization Tracker Certification North America. She has tracked lynx and fisher in Vermont, cougar and kangaroo rat in Western Washington, but still gets excited by possum and red fox in her own backyard. She co-instructs and coordinates the Living Earth Adult Foundations program.
