Description
This 4 hour course/exam will review/examine the NL Pool certification. Participants must give the examiner the prerequisites before the course starts. Prerequisites are NL Pool. All participants must bring Alert ManualCandidates should review the Alert Insert, make yourself familiar with the revised requirements which include a fitness component, and prepare to be evaluated on the mandatory recertification items.
Completion Criteria:• Attend and participate in 100 % of the course.• Successfully demonstrate competency in required skills, activities and final evaluation.
Pre-Course Requirements: (participants must provide qualification first day of class)• National Lifeguard Pool Award or Red Cross Pool Lifeguard Award
Program includes classroom and water activities - 100 % attendance and participation are required.
Awards are issued to the candidate by mail. Certification of this award is for 2 years.

Participants must provide proof of prerequisites to the Examiner prior to commencement of exam:• National Lifeguard Pool Award
All participants must bring an Alert Manual The following items must be purchased in order to participate• 1 CPR pocket mask with a 1-way valve• 1 whistle (recommended Fox 40)• 6 pairs of latex-free gloves• 2 roller gauzes• 5 triangular bandages• 10 gauze pads• 1 golf pencil• 1 silver mylar blanket.
You may choose to purchase a leadership kit containing these supplies at this facility or alternatively you may purchase on your own.
National Lifeguard awards are mailed to successful candidates by the Lifesaving Society.
