Session 1: Personal Protection in a Changing World The focus of this course is to provide you with the knowledge and skills to build an effective personalized safety plan that fits your situation and lifestyle. Topics include: How criminals think (a lot differently than you do) Understanding that a crime is not an event - It’s a process Danger signs Protective strategies Protective measures Situation management The six D’s every effective plan must have This class will be taught by Ed Kardauskas. Ed is currently a reserve sergeant with the Parker County Sheriff’s Office. He is a graduate of Manhattan College and the FBI National Academy. He served 20 years with the City of White Plains, NY Police Department and retired at the rank of captain. After moving to Texas, Ed earned his master peace office certification and has served the Parker County Sheriff’s Office for almost 5 years. FOR AGES 18 & UP.
