Description
Learning to Laugh is a workshop for middle schoolers (age 11-13) who want to make friends, try something new, and become familiar with Shakespeare in the process. Over the course of two weeks (June 24th-July 3rd), they will learn how to read and scan Shakespeare’s poetry, discuss Shakespeare’s plots and characters, and act out his scenes first-hand. Shakespeare’s texts demand a range of performance and public speaking skills that are a joy to explore! We will practice our audition technique, and at the end of the program, we will have a scene recital to show off all we’ve learned together! This is the perfect opportunity to make confident choices in a judgment-free playspace. The skills students learn here will prepare them to participate in their English classes and auditions to come!Location
