Summer III: Nutrition and Sports Performance

Baylor Campus • One Bear Place WacoTX  76798 Organized by Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development

About this event

Baylor TIP Camp is primarily residential, but families may select a day camp option. Students will stay in the dorms with Resident Assistants Sunday night through Friday nights, going home Saturday morning. Course offerings will run from 9am to 4pm, and social events and activities will be held every evening. Meals are included with registration. Students who elect to commute to camp will have the option of participating in the breakfast and staying for evening activities if they choose. Nutrition and Sports Performance In 2010 John Isner and Nicolas Mahut’s extraordinary fitness and endurance were displayed to the world in a single Wimbledon match that lasted 11 hours and 5 minutes. Olympic and professional sports often stretch athletes to seemingly impossible limits. What are the factors that keep athletes like Simone Biles and Serena Williams at the top of their game? Their extraordinary feats are often made possible through their daily habits, psychological mindsets, and routine lifestyle choices. Learn how dietary decisions impact performance. Analyze the factors involved in creating effective training programs that meet different goals for different sports and explore how sports psychology allows athletes to mentally prepare to compete on a global stage.
