Who: Social Club (Criteria: Social Club is for individuals 21-50 who are able to participate in simple conversations, follow multi-step directions, have a clear understanding of dangerous situations (crossing the street, etc.) and visit the restroom independently. Appropriate behavior is mandatory. Language or actions of violent or sexual nature, are strictly forbidden.) What: Country Line Dance Lessons @ The Banque- Country Western Restaurant and Bar Where: Drop off and Pick up will be at our FACT Autism Resource Center 3509 Virginia Beach Blvd Virginia Beach, VA 23452 When: Friday May 24, 2023 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Why: To provide social interaction and community engagement opportunities to teens and young adults with autism. How: Adult staff and peer volunteer chaperones will provide 1:6 supervision. Peer volunteers will also participate, but their primary purpose is to provide social interaction, not supervision. Description: Join FACT as we learn how to country line dance with the instructors at the Banque in Norfolk. FACT will learn how to dance from 7-8 and then free style dance until we depart at 8:40pm. Dinner is included with this event. Participants will be able to choose a small meal from the menu on the day of. ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL NEED AN ID FOR THIS EVENT. Please note: price includes staff, admissions, dinner, and transportation. A small meal is included. If you would like, please provide your child monies to purchase additional food. Please put monies in a wallet or baggie with their name in or on it as well advising their staff at check in. FACT WILL NOT ALLOW THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL FOR ANY PARTICIPANT. Registration: RSVP online a minimum of 48 hours prior to Social Club (please note that space is frequently limited and may be sold out prior to the 48-hour deadline.)
