Pima County Basic Rifle Safety (Ages 10 & Up)

Basic Rifle Safety Class is a four-hour firearms introduction that includes classroom instruction and live fire. The class is designed to teach the basics of rifle safety and operation to individuals who have no experience or limited exposure to firearms. The class explains firearms safety rules, safe firearm operation, and gun owner’s responsibilities. It also introduces the student to shooting fundamentals for rifles such as shooting positions, sight alignment and trigger control. The class concludes with a live fire exercise with bolt action and semiautomatic rifles where the students can practice their shooting fundamentals. Firearms, ammunition, and safety equipment are provided. Any students under 16 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Please DO NOT bring live ammo into the classroom. Leave live ammo in your car.
