Introduction to Clay (Ages 18 & Up)
Pre-Requisite: None
Instructor: Rebecca Pincus
This is a fun beginning level class which will allow you to experience both hand building and throwing on the wheel. The first three weeks will be spent learning the basics of hand building. You will make trays, cups and small sculptures. You will learn how to use the various equipment in the studio, including our huge selection of texture tools. The second three weeks you will be working on the wheel, learning how to center, open and pull your clay to make cups or bowls. The last week of class you will glaze what you have made. Detailed, hands-on instruction will be provided at every stage. You will be amazed at what you can create! Additional costs payable to the instructor on the first day of class: Clay $25, Materials fee $10.
