Description
Join a naturalist on a 5-mile guided hike to explore the natural history of the Tucson Mountains. Get an up-close and hands-on look at the story of the Tucson Mountain geology. Explore the interesting and diverse flora and fauna that helps make the Sonora Desert unique.
This is a moderately challenging hike with some elevation gain and rocky terrain. Trekking poles are recommended and confidence on varied terrain is a must. Bring your lunch and plenty of water.
David Yetman Trailhead
6475 W Gates Pass Rd, Tucson, AZ 85745
Tucson Mountain Park, Yetman West Trailhead (pull out G3) west of Gates Pass overlook. From Tucson, take Speedway Blvd west. Speedway Blvd becomes Gates Pass Road west of Silverbell Road. Continue west on Gates Pass Road over the mountain pass turn left into pull out G3 this is the Yetman West Trailhead.
There are no restrooms and no water at this location. The closest restrooms are at Gates Pass Overlook.
