Aug. 5-9: Tiny House Exterior Trim

Hammerstone • 3285 Jacksonville Rd. TrumansburgNY  14886 Organized by Hammerstone: Carpentry for Women, LLC

About this event

Prerequisite: Our 2-day basic skills course or an exception from Hammerstone is required to take this course. Overview: Finish carpentry consists of both interior and exterior work that protect the structure of the house and provide an aesthetically pleasing look.  In this class, we will be focusing on exterior finish carpentry, including window and door trim as well as corner boards.  The techniques used to install exterior trim are widely applicable to many carpentry situations. We will also cover the correct application of a rainscreen which allows siding and trim to dry, preventing rot and helping maintain paint. Project Description: Students will work as a team to install exterior trim on the tiny house. By the end of the week the goal is to have thecorner boards and window and door trim installed as well as the rainscreen. This class is part of our Tiny House series. Students under 18 may attend with parental permission
