All About Oceans

BASIS Independent Silicon Valley Lower School • 1500 Partridge AVE SunnyvaleCA  94087 Organized by BASIS Independent Silicon Valley

About this event

All About Oceans Campers will dive into a week-long focus on oceans. We will look at tides as well as the different ocean levels to see their effect on ocean life. The campers will learn about various tide pool creatures and then take a field trip to a nearby tide pool to explore. (see field trip page) While at camp, you will help design a special Luau themed party for the rest of the camp groups. Tide Pooling Field Trip (this field trip is included) Sign up for the All About Oceans Camp and explore an ocean ecosystem. Tide pools can almost feel like visiting another world as they reveal parts of nature that are usually hidden making them the perfect way to explore nature with curious kids. Sea anemones, sea stars, crabs, and more are all visible in the pools that are created when the tide recedes. We will travel to either Pillar Point (near Half Moon Bay) or Natural Bridges State Park (near Santa Cruz) to explore the tide pools. Price: $650 Grades: 3-5 Week 3: June 24 -28
