In this class led by painter NATALIE CRANDALL (imPerfect Studio), we’ll study how artists explore and create landscape work to capture the essence of an outdoor place. We’ll explore famous landscapes to notice how each uses composition, colors and realism or other styles to express mood and meaning about the place. Students will build their artistic skills through daily sketching and use of materials such as gouache paint and collage. By the end of the class, students will create their own unique, finalized landscape of a meaningful place, thoughtfully incorporating color, composition and symbolism to express the uniqueness of that place.
