Community Fire Preparedness Workshop (FREE EVENT)! Come join us at the Scotts Valley Community Center for a workshop to learn how to keep your community safe in case of a fire emergency! Following topics will be discussed and presented by speakers.
Property Preparation:
- Making Homes and Properties Fire-Resilient
- Strategies and best practices for enhancing the fire resilience of homes and properties.
- Developing a Wildfire Action Plan
- Guiding participants through the process of creating a comprehensive wildfire action plan tailored to their specific circumstances.
- Responding to Extreme Fire Conditions
- Practical advice on how to respond effectively when faced with extreme fire conditions
Family Preparedness:
- Household Evacuation Planning
- Essential elements to include in a household evacuation plan, along with a sample packing list.
- Identifying Evacuation Routes: Understanding escape routes from the neighborhood and familiarizing oneself with evacuation terminology.
- Monitoring Conditions: Guidance on monitoring fire conditions using reliable sources of information.
- Responding to Emergency Situations: Knowing what to do if trapped during a wildfire evacuation.
Insurance:

- How does insurance differ if you are a homeowner or a renter.
