During our summer camp experiences, educators will immerse themselves alongside students, adopting the perspective of a learner with educator insight. Engaging fully in all activities and skills, they'll also serve as vigilant overseers for student safety. Through these paid externship opportunities, teachers will glean firsthand understanding of the skills, hurdles, and potential paths in diverse STEM fields. Our aim is for educators to re-enter classrooms invigorated and equipped to infuse their teaching with newfound knowledge and enthusiasm, igniting inspiration in their students. Get ready to power up your coding skills and unlock the world of technology at our Coding Camp! Students will be programming small circuit boards with a lot of power! They will learn about Computer Science concepts while creating and coding their own interactive apps and games. The Adafruit Circuit Playground Express has many inputs (a toggle switch, buttons, temperature sensor, sound sensor, light sensor) and outputs (buzzer and LED lights). Students will have an opportunity to build physical computing devices that their user can interact with to make it work. Projects will include a Catch a Bug game, an Emoji Race game, and a mini interactive light show. Every student gets to take home an Adafruit Circuit Playground at end of camp!
