About this event

Description

Internet Registration has not begun yet. Check Registration Dates in details.

Join Ecologist Tom Simpson as we spend a day in the wilds of McHenry County paddling seven miles of the Nippersink Creek. We will learn more about the plants and animals that call this ecosystem home, and how the Conservation District works to keep the creek healthy. Meet at Keystone Landing to learn basic paddling techniques, kayak safety, and river kayaking. The trip includes a stop for a primitive picnic so bring a sack lunch and plenty of water to drink. Wear shoes that can get wet and fully secure to your feet. Don't forget sunscreen! Be aware there are no restroom facilities along the creek. Register for a single kayak here. There is also a listing for tandem canoes.

Please make sure to sign up for the type of boat you would like to reserve. Both people in a canoe must register.
