Explore the school farm through hands-on scientific fieldwork, seasonal culinary preparations and nature-based art, while building a STEAM skillset. Campers will plant, grow, cook, compost and create while immersed in the practice of the scientific process. The garden becomes a living, learning laboratory for our environmental stewards, through the lens of the vibrant outdoor classroom. Our Farmer-Chef instructors, Clorissa and Pati, will show campers how to harvest fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs from our own edible garden for every class. Jr. Farmers will be awakened to new tastes, learn new culinary techniques, and use local seasonal produce to prepare recipes from cuisines around the world, while learning how nutrition, math, science, art, and history can be discovered on their plate. Bring a reusable water bottle, sun hat and sunscreen as we will be working outside in full sun. Please note on the Registration Form any dietary needs or restrictions. Class fee for the session includes healthy snacks, hydrating drinks, and a student prepared lunch.
