Three Quick Tips
- Be sure to stay right on all trail crossings.
- A must-stop on the way home is Joe's El Rio Texicantina Restaurant in Stevenson, Washington. This is not your everyday Mexican restaurant, and the food is a cut above the rest.
- You'll burn a lot of calories on the Dog Mountain hike and need fuel and water to replenish your body. A hydration pack is recommended, making it easy to stay hyrdrated on the trail.
How to Get There
Travel east on I-84 to the Bridge of the Gods in Cascade Locks, cross the Columbia, and head east through Stevenson. The trail head is at milepost 53 approximately 12 miles from bridge. Remember, you will need a Forest Pass to park in the lot.
