About this event
Improv at The Actor Factory is a class designed not for the comedy stage performer, but for the on-camera or stage actor in mind. But it is a fun, high-energy class taught by a very gifted and amazing instructor, OU professor Madison Niederhauser. Improv just isn't about being funny. Sure, there are classes in that, and you can take those classes elsewhere. This class is designed to help actors let go, live in the moment, trust their instincts, and react to the ever-changing world around them. These techniques in unlocking freedom empowers actors with the confidence they can handle any situation, including when directors say "make the words your own", or wait on calling "cut" to see where the scene goes. An actor comfortable with improv will be a much more valuable asset on set. Madison Niederhauser brings his wealth of knowledge as a performer, and his study of improv at Chicago's legendary IO and Second City, among others, bringing a unique, safe and fun application of the basic tenets of improv as it pertains to the serious actor.
