Salamander Saturday!
Unless you have been living under a log your whole life, you may not have known that Virginia is home to a wide variety of Salamanders! Over 50 species are known to live throughout the commonwealth in all manner of places - perhaps even in your own backyard!
If you'd like to know more about these fascinating amphibians - such as their remarkable healing abilities, voracious appetites, and unusual adaptations - then wiggle your way down to the Discovery Center to find out more!
Location
Discovery Center - From the Newport News Park main entrance, proceed 1 mile on Constitution Ave; the Discovery Center and parking lot is on the right - look for the Civil War canon!
