About this event
This club will run for the full year and will be held on the first Tuesday of the month with the exception of September. Here are the exact dates for the fall semester: 9/26 10/3 11/7 12/5 In this club, students will learn basic photo techniques used for photojournalism, explore their relationship to the world around them as it interacts with light and stories they design, understand connection to the subject and telling their story (subject vs object) and culminate in a group Waldorf Gallery show in the Spring. Students need an old cellphone that is not on a cellphone plan or digital camera (preferred). If you need assistance finding a camera, please advise. No student will be denied based on access to materials. *Families, if you enroll your student in this club, please allow them to photograph you when with your permission without posing. We will learn what it means to “see” and storytell vs. produce a “product,” **A note the first iphone photo published as photojournalism was in the NY Post, they did not know it came from a phone! Current technologies do not require a special purchase to make beautiful artwork.
