Join us for some seriously silly word play - a multi-age writing workshop differentiated for all abilities. We will explore elements of writing in a fun, developmentally appropriate, play based way and use art and dictation (and writing for those who can) to facilitate our ideas and bring our thoughts and stories to life. We will illustrate and write short stories, explore and write poetry, utilize writing prompts, write letters, make lists and make and keep a weekly journal. Writing and reading abilities not required (in fact this is a fabulous foundation class for pre-reading, pre-writing skill development, in a non pressured, individualized, developmentally and age appropriate environment). This class meets every child where they are. Emphasis is on self expression, creativity/use of imagination, socialization, and laying a foundation for lifelong learning and appreciation of the arts (writing, reading and art). Come play with words, tell us your stories and let your imaginations run free! Instructor: Val Smith
