About this event
Is your performer interested in pursuing a college degree or career in the performing arts? This lecture/Q&A-based class will delve into the many facets of considering what it takes to apply for college arts programs, auditioning/performing after college, and much more. Learn about the differences between a BA vs. BFA degree/program, what the college prescreen/audition process entails (it’s complicated, a lot of work, and a big time commitment!), how to select appropriate audition monologues and songs, what college acceptance rates are like, how to handle rejection, how to stay organized and prepared through the entire process, etc. We highly recommend this course be attended by the performer as well as at least one adult guardian each week; applying for college is a family affair, and for those who are serious about studying the arts in college, it is important that both performers and their families understand the level of commitment and what it takes to be successful!
