The 5K for Kelsey Fun Run was created in honor of Kelsey Nalepa who was 8 years old when she was killed in a car accident involving a drunk driver. We want to bring awareness to the impacts of drinking and driving while raising funds for the Kelsey Nalepa Scholarship.
Come join us for a 5K fun run, food trucks, silent auction, children's activities, a cornhole tournament (additional cost) and more!
Event details and schedule
The event is from 10:00-1:00
10:00am - Event "opens" (pick up race bag with t-shirt, purchase raffle basket & activity tickets/wristband, onsite registration-shirt not guaranteed) and cornhole tournament begins (additional cost to participate)!
11:00am - Presentation of the 2024 Kelsey Nalepa Scholarships. We will pause the cornhole tournament until Noon.
11:30am - The 5K Fun Run Start Time (This is family and pet friendly...dogs and strollers are welcome. The course is a combination of concrete and decomposed granite. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Adult 18 and up and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Child under 18)
12:00 - Resume cornhole tournament
12:30pm - Online Silent Auction Closes (you do not have to be present to win...any winner not in attendance will be contacted.)
12:45pm - Raffle Winners Announced (You do not have to be present to win...any winner not in attendance will be contacted. Please make sure your name and phone number are on each raffle ticket!)
Event FAQs:
- Location: Hometown Heroes Park (1001 E. League City Parkway, League City, TX 77573)
- Tickets/Wristbands: Tickets will be sold at the event for all activities and raffle baskets. Tickets are $1.00 each. There will also be an option to purchase a $20 wristband for unlimited, all day access to the activities (does NOT include cornhole tournament). WE ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCEPT CREDIT/DEBIT CARD PAYMENTS AT THE EVENT! Please be prepared to pay with cash, or via PayPal or Venmo app.
- Food Trucks: Food trucks will be onsite and donating a percentage of their sales to the Kelsey Nalepa Scholarship Fund. THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ACCEPT CREDIT/DEBIT CARD PAYMENTS!
- Silent Auction: The online silent auction will end at 12:30. All winners are expected to render payment once the bidding is finalized (Cash, Venmo, PayPal, or a check made payable to: Kelsey Nalepa Scholarship Fund, are acceptable forms of payment for the silent auction).
