Come hear about the development of a Kaiser-built company town for the workers at WWII ship building plants between the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. Its rapid construction and remarkable accommodations were a national phenomenon that served thousands of families prior to the 1948 flood.
Dr. Elizabeth Pruden is part of the Community Speakers Bureau, a group of dedicated volunteers from the Oregon Historical Society who give presentations about the history of Oregon. Their talks are interactive, educational, and always completely free!
