Description
Welcome to Spring UBCO Recreation Pickleball League. This program will run in the Gymnasium, and we use the badminton lines.
Monday 9:30am-11:30amTuesday 9:30am-11:30amThursday 9:30am-11:30am4 indoor courts
20 Players MAX per session.
Session Fee: $40.00 per playerParking: $7.50 per session (you need to add this to your cart)
This league is for players from 2.5-3.5. We will be playing round-robin style and will playing with all levels within this group. We are a social league and want players to meet people and have fun playing the sport of pickleball while meeting new people.
Open to the UBCO students, staff and faculty and community members.
Pickleball - Digit Skill Ratings1.0-2.0: Player is just starting to play pickleball and has no other sports background. Minimal understanding of the rules of the game.2.5: Player has limited experience. Can sustain a short rally with players of equal ability and has a basic ability to keep score.3.0: Player understands fundamentals, is learning proper court positioning, knows the fundamental rules, can keep score and is now playing tournaments.3.5: Player moves quickly towards the non-volley zone when opportunity is there, can sustain short rallies, is learning proper court positioning and has basic knowledge of stacking and understands situations where it can be effective.4.0+: Player is aware of partner's position on the court, is able to move as a team, has a moderate number of unforced errors per game, is beginning to identify opponent's weaknesses and attempts to formulate game plan to attack weaknesses.
