Explore the rich, layered beauty of florals through the unique lens of encaustic painting. In this 4-week series, each session highlights a different technique for interpreting flowers in wax. We’ll begin with Botanical Impressions, pressing real blooms into the surface for organic texture and shadow. Then, move into Painting with Pigmented Wax, using bold or delicate strokes to create abstract or realistic floral forms. In Collage & Embedded Florals, you’ll layer dried flowers, tissue, and drawings beneath translucent wax. Finally, dive into Carving & Incising Petals, using sgraffito and texturing tools to etch expressive detail into your floral compositions. This series is perfect for both beginners and returning encaustic artists looking to deepen their skills in a focused and creative way.
