From Fire to Flow: Crafting with Iron and Colored Resin (May 17th & 18th)

Monthaven Arts & Cultural Center • 1017 Antebellum Circle HendersonvilleTN  37075 Organized by Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center

About this event

Instructor: Val Adams In this iron and colored resin pouring class, you’ll explore the fusion of metal casting and resin artistry. The process begins with designing and preparing molds, into which molten iron is carefully poured to create strong and intricate metal forms. After the iron has cooled and solidified, colored resin is introduced, filling voids, cracks, or intentional spaces to create striking visual contrasts. This combination of industrial and artistic techniques results in unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that showcase both the raw strength of metal and the fluid vibrancy of resin. Through this class, you’ll develop skills in mold-making, metalworking, and resin pouring, blending craftsmanship with creative expression. The workshop is appropriate for adults, teens, and older children under supervision. The $150 fee covers all supply costs. **Please be aware that this class will be held at Val’s studio located at 2853 Rural Hill Road in Nashville. The two-day workshop is 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Space is very limited.
