Pre-settlement Illinois was covered in 60% prairie habitat. Now, only 0.01% of that prairieland remains. Visit and learn about a black soil remnant prairie, a true rarity, nestled right in Greenwood township. Registered participants will receive detailed directions and the finalized meeting location 5 days before the program date. Please be prepared to hike off-trails, on uneven ground.
In the event of inclement weather, this program will be rescheduled to May 19th.
