Three IN-PERSON sessions April 10, 17, 24 This three-week course will create discussion surrounding higher education. The first week will be presenting the troubles and the attacks on higher education both nationally and in Georgia. Issues with enrollment, the humanities and STEM divide, expectation of students, and myths about classrooms and curriculums. Week two will focus on the past, diving into the audience’s nostalgia for their college years while covering the last few decades. Lastly, the class will discuss what role they can play in the future of higher education. Matthew Boedy is a professor of rhetoric and composition at the University of North Georgia. He is also the president of the Georgia conference of the American Association of University Professors. He has written about higher education in the AJC and other publications. He lives in Gainesville with his wife and daughter.
