About this event

Three IN-PERSON sessions June 4, 11, 18 Join us as we continue to learn more about the people who wrote the hits in the 50s and 60s. Bacharach and David, Ashford and Simpson, Elton John and Bernie Taupin, and others. These teams composed the songs we listened to on 'American Bandstand' and on our tiny Japanese transistor radios. Note: Participation in the Part 1 section of this course, offered during the BULLI winter session, is not necessary in order to enjoy learning about the composers covered in this BULLI summer Part 2 section. Tom Dell has played rock ’n’ roll, rhythm and blues, and some country since 1957 in dives and clubs on the East Coast and Atlanta. He served in the Marines and graduated from Georgia State University. In addition to teaching for BULLI, he teaches at OLLI at Emory University and at the Central DeKalb Senior Center. He owned a stereo store in the 1970s and spent 30 years in the telecommunications industry.
