About this event
Adult Organizer: Nan Ding Email: dingdingsnow@gmail.com Student Advisor: A. Liu Dates: Fridays, with the first meeting on 9/8/23 and the last meeting on 4/29/24. Time: 4:10 PM–5:10 PM Duration: Year Grades: 8–12 Available Spaces: 15 Cost: $75 Description: A biotope is an aquarium that mimics the natural habitat of one or more species of fish. In this club, we will be creating a biotope to the best of our abilities. Club members will get to choose which habitat they want to replicate. The process offers a hands on and interactive way to learn not only about our natural world, but also about problem solving, trouble-shooting, and creative thinking. Mimicking a natural environment isn’t easy and the road to a successful biotope won’t be linear, but that is what makes the process so fruitful. At the end of the year, we will submit our habitat to the Biotope Aquarium Design Contest to compete with others from around the world!
