Dates: June 10, June 12, June 17, June 19, June 24, June 26 Time: 9:00-11:00 AM Grades 4-8 West Side Park You still need to register for this activity even though it is FREE. All that is recommended is to bring water, wear clothes to be active, closed-toed shoes, sunglasses and/or hat for sun protection. Ultimate (or Ultimate Frisbee) is a sport that combines elements of three other well-known sports: football, basketball, and soccer. It has the constant motion of soccer, the field layout and end zone scoring of football, and the passing and object movement of basketball, all played with a 175 gram disc. The goal: move the disc down the field and into the opposite end zone to score a point for your team WITHOUT running or walking with the disc, only by passing it to your teammates. This three-week session taught by Mychael Redig will teach kids grades 4-8 everything needed to know how to play Ultimate, including how to throw and catch, the general rules of the game, and good sportsmanship. Upon learning how to play, participants will have the opportunity to take part in community-wide games of Ultimate throughout the summer, open to late-elementary students through adults. To maximize growth and learning, this program is capped at 25 participants, so register quickly! If you have any questions, please reach out to Mychael via email, newcharge@yahoo.com. Thank you in advance for giving Ultimate a try! It’s a sport your sons and daughters will be able to play for decades to come!
