Description
EligibilityAny student registered for an 8-week ceramics class at Place des Arts during the 2023/2024 season is eligible to register for Summer Ceramic Studio Access.DatesSummer Ceramics Studio Access runs for 6 weeks, Monday-Friday from Tuesday, July 2 to Friday, August 9, 2024. See studio hours. Note: Place des Arts is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as July 1 and August 5.
By registering for this program, the student agrees to the procedures outlined below.
ProductionRegistration includes firing for up to 25 pieces per student (which is equal to 25 bisque firings and 25 glaze firings). The technician will use a tally system to track students’ production. Tech’s tip: focus on quality and technique over quantity!
- The maximum project size is: up to 12” in diameter at the base, 15” in diameter at the top and 18” tall. Projects over 12” in height will be counted as three projects.
- For rectangular or free-form pieces: the maximum size is 18” width, 12” depth, 4” height. Projects wider than 12” will be counted as two projects.- Pieces less than 3” in diameter and less than 6” high are two-for-one (or half a project).
- There is no limit on test tiles.
Clay is sold separately. Clay is available for purchase and pick-up from the Registration Desk at Place des Arts; clay types are subject to availability.
Studio Sign-UpsAll students must sign-up for their Open Studio visits on the Google Docs Open Studio Sign-Up sheet, which will be released every two weeks. When the Open Studio schedule is released, students may sign-up for the number of spots indicated on the weekly tab. If there is availability, students may sign up for an additional open studio spot no sooner than 24 hours of the start of the available spot. All sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis. There is no maximum on the number of additional weekly studio sign ups.
