Description
This class is suited to absolute beginners and those looking to explore the fundamentals of ceramics. Gain an understanding of working in clay to build skills and confidence on the wheel. Learn to prepare clay, basic handbuilding and be introduced to the wheel, finishing and glazing. For the first class, new students should purchase a half box of M-340 clay and a pottery tool kit from Place des Arts’ Registration Desk. Other clay options and supplies will be discussed in the first class. Firing and open studio time is included. Open Studio access is limited and students are required to sign-up for studio time in advance. By registering for this program, the student acknowledges they have read and agree to the studio procedures outlined in the Student Ceramics Handbook.
