About this event

Description

We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Friday, March 29, 2024.

Competitive Round Robin Play (3.1-4.0)

Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals up for grabs as well as a random door prize drawing for pickleball items.
To be considered a "Competitive Player", you must have been playing recreationally for at least several months, and have advanced your skill level to a ranking of 3.1 up to 4.0, based on the criteria of USA Pickleball, and the Guidelines and Skill Level Breakdown on the WCPR website. This is for players that like the competitive feel of playing against and with higher level players and learning from the competitive experience.
NO NEED TO SIGN UP WITH A PARTNER
Other mixed doubles formats in the system require that you find your own partner; however, in this exciting new format, you can sign up individually, or you can bring a partner. Either way, we will split everyone up and play games in a round robin format, with the winners being the players earning the top 3 point totals. This format allows players a chance to earn points as they play with, and against everyone else on the court.
This NEW fun event will happen on a monthly basis, and possibly more often, based on demand. The $15 entry fee is an introductory, reduced price when compared to other facilities in the system, and is intended to introduce folks to these wonderful College Grove courts.
Flight winners (gold, silver, and bronze), will be based on total points earned for the night, and will be awarded medals. There will also be a random drawing for a surprise pickleball related door prize.
Again, a “Competitive” Player in the context of this Round Robin means an “Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate” player. These are players with a ranking between 3.1 and 4.0 on the League Player Guidelines and Skill Breakdown from the previous page (Pickleball Clinics, Leagues and Tournaments near the bottom of the page).
**Courts are outdoor, so bring a lawn chair and some water, so you are comfortable and hydrated. This FUN event may be moved inside when weather conditions warrant the move (rain, excessive heat or cold, etc.).
** We need at least 24 hour notice if you have to cancel. Refunds will not be issued after classes have begun. 4-Player minimum per class, space is limited Contact Jeff (x 2116) or Dave (x 1965) at 370-3471 with questions
