The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over. This program offers a choice of Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED courses to meet the various training needs of a diverse audience. COURSE INFORMATION: DATE | TIME: Saturday-06/15/2023 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM Sunday-06/16/2023 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday-06/17/2023 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM LIFEGUARDING BLENDED LEARNING INTENSIVE COURSE r24 We are excited to offer you American Red Cross Lifeguarding Blended Learning. Blended learning combines online learning with in-person skills sessions where you will practice skills and demonstrate competency. Please plan to complete all eLearning at least two days before your first in-person skills session. Most participants complete the eLearning portion of the course in approximately 7 hours. Your experience may vary widely based on several factors, including your PC, internet speed, and previous training. We recommend that you begin the online session as soon as possible. Students must complete all eLearning modules before the first in-person skill session. Course Prerequisites: Age: Students must be at least 15 by the last day of class. Skills: All lifeguarding participants must complete the required swimming skills prerequisite for participating in an ARC Lifeguarding Course. The prerequisite skills assessments include: 1) Complete Swim (150 yards)-tread (2 minutes)-swim (50 yards) without stopping to rest. 2) Timed Brick Retrieval 1 minute and 40 Seconds. To obtain your Red Cross Lifeguarding certification, you must successfully complete, e-learning, attend and participate in all classes and activities, and complete 3 final skills assessments.
