Discover what McDowell has to offer - for free! - at McDowell Outdoor Adventure Day! Kayak and stand-up paddle board on scenic Lake Wylie; hunt "treasure'', hike and hone your orienteering skills in the Preserve; strike a pose with our Certified Yoga Instructor on land or on water. This event is open to outdoor enthusiasts and weekend warriors alike. Please be advised that some activities are age-restricted - please see details below: Kayaking: ages 5-9 must be in a tandem kayak with adult, 10 and up can be in single boat. Stand Up Paddleboard: ages 16 and up. Yoga on the Deck: ages 10-15 must be accompanied with an adult, ages 16 and up welcome. Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga: ages 16 and up. All participants must be able to swim for SUP Yoga only.Waivers must be signed to participate in water activities. If under 18--waivers must be signed by an adult. No pre-registration required (NOTE: all other programs require registration). Sign up for activities at event on a first come, first serve basis.
