The Swim Patrol levels provide enriched training for those who are ready to go beyond learning to swim. Swim Patrol's three levels - Rookie, Ranger, and Star - continue to develop participants' swim strokes and provide the skill foundation that prepares them for success in the Lifesaving Society's Bronze medal awards. Swim Patrol Levels are a terrific introduction for those interested in becoming Lifeguards!
Rookie Patrol: Swimmers continue stroke development with 50 m swims of front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke. Lifesaving Sport skills include a 25 m obstacle swim and 15 m object carry. First aid focuses on assessment of conscious victims, contacting EMS and treatment for bleeding. Fitness improves in 350 m workouts and 100 m timed swims.
*In order for participants to partake in Rookie Patrol, they will have needed to successfully complete Swim For Life Swimmer 6 prior to registering.
Ranger Patrol: Swimmers continue stroke development with 75m swims of front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke. Lifesaving Sport skills include a 25m eggbeater kick on back, sear and recover objects as well as removing a concious victim from the water. First aid focuses on assessment of unconcious breathing victims, caring for those in shock and handling obstructed airways. Fitness will improve in their 200m workout swim which is required to be completed in under 6mins.
*In order for participants to partake in Ranger Patrol, they will have needed to successfully complete Swim for Life Swimmer 6 and Rookie Patrol prior to registering.
CANCELLATIONS
Vecova strives to give 5-7 days prior to the start of a program, notice of cancellation. Full refunds will be given or the opportunity to transfer to another program (space permitting).
TRANSFERS
All program transfers are subject to availability and a transaction fee.
WITHDRAWALS
All withdrawals must be made a minimum of 7 days prior to the start of a program. Prior to 7 days a credit minus a transaction fee of $2.00 per program will be placed on your Vecova account for future use. Refund requests made prior to 7 days to program start date will be subject to a $25.00 administration fee. Refunds will not be given if cancelled within 7 days of program start date or after the program has started.
PHOTOGRAPHY
To protect everyone's privacy, cell phones, cameras and other forms of communication devices are not permitted in the changerooms.
Photos may be taken of your children while in a program. A Vecova employee has the right to view the photo to ensure the privacy of others.
