Going for the Gold in Sustainability: Week 1 (July 1-3) Geothermal energy systems, water management, low carbon menus: This year’s Olympics will aim for greater sustainability, with innovative solutions to have a climate positive event. Using recyclables along with art supplies like pipe cleaners and clay, campers will design their own sustainable Olympic Village. What’s the eco-friendliest way to light your village in the City of Lights? What kind of food could Olympians eat to power their bodies and do the least harm to the planet? Can we welcome more bicycles on our village streets? Where does the wastewater go when everyone flushes at the same time? (Ewwww!!)
