Drawing: Botanical Art Workshop with Watercolor - A Focus on FlowersInstructor: Barbara HolmerBotanical Art is an art form that combines scientific accuracy with artistic sensitivity andaesthetic. Start a sketchbook with a focus on flowers while practicing color matchingand a variety of techniques using watercolor.* We will start with the deconstructed flowerand then discuss points to remember when drawing the complete blossom.Subjects will be provided. Bring your sketchbook/paper and watercolor supplies anda snack or lunch.* Students should have previous experience with basic watercolor techniques.
Prerequisite: Students should have previous experience with basic watercolor techniques.

GENERAL SUPPLIES:small vase or container for your subject plus flower frog if you have onewater container (s) (Talenti Sorbet/Gelato is perfect!)lint free cloth or paper toweling (Viva plain texture)artists tape 1/2”mechanical pencil HB size .5 or .7 (found in office stores or art stores: Nothing fancy!)kneaded and/or white plastic eraser such as Staedtler-Mars
BRUSHES:-Utrecht Series 228 Sablette size 3 or 4OR-Princeton Series 4050R (Heritage) round pointed size 3 or 4OR-Da Vinci Cosmotop Spin size 3 or 4
PALETTE:white porcelain or plastic palette with at least 6 compartments
