Description
In this swim team program, for ages 8 to 12 years, swimmers will begin their journey as a competitive swimmer by focusing on the fundamentals while having fun. Participants will learn what it takes to be a competitive swimmer both in and out of the water including goal setting, nutrition, and training. In this group, the emphasis is on form rather than yardage. Swimmers will be encouraged to swim in meets on a semi-regular basis to give them an opportunity to use, evaluate, and improve their skills. Requirements: Swimmers should be able to swim all four competitive strokes of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. They also need the ability to do pace and interval training using a pace clock and commit to a rigorous training program.
