Grades: K-1st. A "skill" in soccer is anything you can do individually to affect a soccer game, whether you're on or off the ball. A skilled soccer player can have a huge impact on a game. But more importantly, developing skills gives players confidence and invites them to be bold and creative, which is the essence of great soccer. This co-ed, weekly training session helps with skills that you can learn regardless of your starting age or level. Each skill will build on another from week to week. Examples of things we'll do in those practices include: body work and positioning in offense and defense, ball handling and dribbling, passing skills and form for short, medium, and long passing, goalie skills and goalie concepts, off the ball movement, space awareness, shooting and finishing, and overall fitness. Instructor: G-Powers Training staff. 6 classes.
Meet the Coach:
Coach Daniel O'Neil has been a Rec & Ed coach for boys and girls over the last five years, and is about to begin his fifteenth Rec & Ed season. He believes deeply in the unique and special character of each child as they discover who they are on and off the field. His greatest joy as a coach is seeing players progress and succeed.
Testimonial:
“Coach Dan is amazing! Not only did he teach soccer skills in a creative and easy to understand way, he made each child feel skilled and valuable.”
