This workshop will use recycled Tetra Pak Containers to create small-sized etchings. Part of a new wave of alternative and experimental printing techniques, "Kitchen Printmaking" uses accessible household items (tinfoil, vinegar, spackle, pasta machines, tortilla presses, etc.) to create images similar to traditional printmaking. In preparation for the workshop please save and clean some of your containers that have a Tetra Pak label. Even though materials will be provided, you might like to have your own size and shapes to start with. You could also prepare an inspirational drawing. The workshop duration will be 2.5 Hours in which we will transfer an image to cardboard, carve the image with a needle, ink, and print an image through the printing press. Some experience with printing is helpful but not necessary. All supplies are included. Lavinia Hanachiuc (Brasov, Romania) is a ceramicist, printmaker, and mixed media installation artist. She is a featured artist in the Stratum & Breadth show in the A2AC Gallery.
